Bienvenidas y bienvenidos a la convocatoria para obras radiofónicas del
festival internacional de arte sonoro monteaudio24abstracción
El Instituto de Música de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de la República y el Taller experimental de arte sonoro, junto con el Festival internacional de arte sonoro monteaudio24abstracción y radiomonteaudio convocan a artistas sonoros a presentar obras de arte radiofónico a ser programadas en los meses de diciembre y enero próximos en radiomonteaudio y en el marco del festival internacional de arte sonoro monteaudio24abstracción.
El presente llamado tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de una plataforma de exhibición de obras sonoras radiofónicas, creadas por artistas de todo el planeta (y más allá), que den cuenta del más amplio espectro posible de creaciones sonoras.
radiomonteaudio, en su cuarto año de actividad, impulsa la transmisión y la escucha como prácticas artísticas que permiten accionar sentidos comunitarios y sociales a través del sonido y la palabra.
Como es ya habitual en la convocatoria de monteaudio, solemos ofrecer una libertad absoluta en los temas que ustedes, creadores, quieran exponer a través de sus obras.
No obstante lo cual, y aún manteniendo este espíritu en la actual convocatoria, este año queremos invitar a las y los artistas a reflexionar a través de medios sonoros sobre un cúmulo de temáticas de urgencia en el contexto planetario y local de esta etapa del capitalismo.
El modo de esta invitación es proponer una lista de preguntas posibles, como apertura a que los participantes puedan elegir temas o incluso proponer su propias preguntas, exponer sus pensamientos sónicos en torno a esas preguntas/respuestas y urgencias.

¿Y qué pasó con la gente cuando invadieron?
¿A dónde fueron las vacas? ¿Cuándo se fueron?

Categorías de presentación
El llamado de arte radiofónico se estructura de las siguientes categorías duracionales:
micro / corto / largo / macro
micro: hasta 90 segundos
corto: hasta 6 minutos
largo: hasta 30 minutos
macro: al menos 45 minutos
Exploraciones posibles
Pensamiento sónico, arte sonoro, radio arte, música experimental, paisaje sonoro, radio teatro, ruido, señales sonoras atmosféricas, y un largo etc.
Formatos posibles
Obras de variada duración, piezas, ejercicios, discos, series, transmisiones nómades, retransmisiones
Las obras tendrán que ser originales, de carácter experimental, inéditas y actuales.
Se entregarán en formato no comprimido (wav o aiff), mono o estéreo, en un enlace provisto individualmente luego de la inscripción.
Las obras pueden ser realizadas y presentadas individualmente o en grupos de dos o más integrantes.

La pieza se subirá en formato no comprimido a un enlace de internet que será comunicado a cada candidato o candidata luego de su inscripción, acompañada de una breve texto de presentación de la obra, una imagen jpeg de 1080x1080 pixeles que las y los autores entiendan representa a la pieza, y una breve biografía de los y las autores.
Cada participante será informado de la selección o no selección final de la pieza

Welcome to the call for radio works of the
international sound art festival monteaudio24abstraction
The Music Institute of the Faculty of Arts of the University of the Republic and the Experimental Sound Art Workshop, together with the International Sound Art Festival monteaudio24abstracción and radiomonteaudio, call on sound artists to present works of radio art to be programmed in the months next December and January on radiomonteaudio and within the framework of the international sound art festival monteaudio24abstracción.
The objective of this call is to develop a platform for the exhibition of radio sound works, created by artists from all over the planet (and beyond), that reflect the widest possible spectrum of sound creations.
radiomonteaudio, in its fourth year of activity, promotes transmission and listening as artistic practices that allow community and social meanings to be activated through sound and words.
As is usual in the monteaudio call, we usually offer absolute freedom in the themes that you, creators, want to expose through your works.
However, and still maintaining this spirit in the current call, this year we want to invite artists to reflect through sound media on a host of urgent themes in the planetary and local context of this stage of capitalism.
The mode of this invitation is to propose a list of possible questions, as an opening for participants to choose topics or even propose their own questions, exposing their sonic thoughts around those questions/answers and emergencies.

What is urgent?
And what happened to the people when they invaded?
Where did the cows go? When did they leave?
How does the River smell?
How much more will we tolerate?
What will explode next?
In the end, is it solved with AI?
What does it feel like to be a cyborg being?
Have you been to any territory on the planet not inhabited by humans?
Is everything political when you are a woman?
Who raises the children?
And what do we say about seabed bioprospecting?
What do you feel or think that unites us?
Have you ever migrated before?
How does your dream develop each day?
What does it sound like when you cook?
Is the food I choose political?
What minerals are we in permanent contact with? How did they get here?
And then, plastics?
Have you taken a deep breath today?
Have you listened deeply today?
How is evolution managed?
Do you dare to glimpse the future?

Presentation Categories
The call for radio art is structured by the following durational categories:
micro / short / long / macro
micro: up to 90 seconds
short: up to 6 minutes
long: up to 30 minutes

Possible explorations
Sonic thought, sound art, radio art, experimental music, soundscape, radio theater, noise, atmospheric sound signals, and a long etc.
Possible formats
Works of varied duration, pieces, exercises, albums, series, nomadic transmissions, broadcasts
The works must be original, experimental, unpublished and current.
They will be delivered in uncompressed format (wav or aiff), mono or stereo, in a link provided individually after registration.
The works can be made and presented individually or in groups of two or more members.
